Service Description

This microschool is a part-time homeschool program that allows students to learn in a group setting. It includes access to lessons and projects in all core subjects, with a focus on social studies, Bible, & literature. Additional work assignments may be done at home under the supervision of the student's parents. It is a drop-off program, but parents are welcome to stay and participate with their students if they prefer (pending necessary background checks). Curriculum Overview 2024-25 1. Second to eighth grade students will have access to individualized courses on their Monarch dashboard (Alpha Omega Publishing). Access to laptops and/or Chromebooks during the microschool day is included in tuition. 2. Second to eighth grade students will participate in IEW Structure & Style writing course as well as their Fix-it-Grammar accompaniment. 3. Our historical focus for this year will be modern US and world history from 1850 to present. We will be reading selections from Beautiful Feet Books as well as recommendations from Biblioplan: Year 4. 4. Students will be given the option of several unit studies in science. Our initial unit will focus on botany and horticulture. 5. Each morning will begin with a 10 minute news program from World Watch News. This will be followed by our devotions and prayer time. Student's will be encouraged to include current events in their morning prayers. 6. Bible memory, hymns, and daily devotions will use multiple resources. These include Not Consumed Ministries, Answers in Genesis, and The ESV Study Bible. 7. Several fieldtrips are included throughout the year. Potential field trips for the 2024-25 school include: Dry Tortuga National Park, Legoland, and The Shell Factory. Parents are welcome to join (at their own expense).
